Right now I am in a pretty good place. I finished analyzing the story I was reading, and have come up with about 4-5 important points that I can write about in my paper. I also researched Juan Bosch, and wrote my biography on him. He has turned out to be much more interesting than I thought he would be, for example he was a major figure in the Dominican Republican Government. It is also clear to me where he gets some of his ideas for writing short stories.

blog #4.....I think

Well I'm moving along. I am going back over the short story that I found, and am looking for Latin American characteristics. I am also starting to research facts on my author for the biography we have to write this weekend. I think I might look for other works as well, to compare them to the one I have just read.

I found a new story that I really like, and am going to stick with that author. Even though I enjoyed reading the folk story, I did end up concluding that there wasn't enough there to work with. Next I need to find a biography on my author and maybe find some other works as well to compare the one I read to. I should also probably reread the story that I picked and searce for points that I can write about in my essay.

I went to a random site through google, just to see how many fake ones are out there; these are the results...

1. I could not find the name of an author anywhere on the page

2. It seems to be written for highschool students to adults

3.The information seems legitimate, but there are no resources listed

4. The article is completely factual and not biased

5. The bottom of the page says copyright 2003

6. Some of the links took me to more information, whereas others took me to a search engine, said that the page could not be displayd, and/or gave me a pop-up

I will not be using this source because I do not know where this information came from and if it is even true.

Blog # 1

At the beginning of the project i knew that I would want to do a short story and not a poem, I am still not sure what type of story though. I found a children's story that was interesting ; I noticed some similarities between it and other short stories we have read. Still, I do not think there is quite enough material to extract from it, and will keep looking. I glanced over a couple of other stories that might work, so I will read them and see if I can use one.
